Dear fellow boulistes,

It’s not yet time to put away your boules for the winter, not…..quite…..yet!

This is the time of year you’ve been breathlessly waiting for: the tournament to end all tournaments for 2011. The Seattle Petanque Club Member Panache event*. All SPC members, and non-members are invited to participate in this end-of-the year tournament. There will be a nominal $5.00 charge for all non-Seattle Petanque Club players.

We are also inviting our sister association, the Edmonds Petanque Club to participate by sending their own members thus giving everyone the opportunity to meet new players.

The tournament will start promptly on Sunday, October 16 at 10:00 AM at our usual spot behind Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers.

Contact Philippe Geraud at PHILIPPE@GOLDHARBOR.COM for directions.  We encourage  all players check in  at 9:30 AM so as to get oriented with first game partners and to find out their designation.

This will be a four-game tournament  and since this is a “panache” event there will be no playoffs necessary. Provisions will not be made for lunch so you will need to make your own arrangements. We suggest either a bag lunch or you can go across the street to the nearby Safeway. We also suggest you do so before the tournament starts so as not to make your partners wait (we will have a cooler available). We hope to play two games in the morning, followed by a lunch break and then two games in the afternoon, depending on weather.

Your RSVP by email to PHILIPPE@GOLDHARBOR.COM is appreciated.

Let us hope for fair weather and we hope everyone has fun!
The sports Committee/Seattle Petanque Club

NOTE
* Players are broken down between “advanced” and “intermediate/beginners” and paired with a different partner at the beginning of each game. 4 games total will be played during the day. Total points will be counted at the end of the day to determine winners and prices will be allocated accordingly.
