Hope you might be interested in the upcoming petanque tournament in Edmonds. The yearly celebration of Bastille Day on the petanque courts is a high point of the year. This is also a good chance for people new to Seattle to connect with an active and friendly petanque club in Edmonds.
Registration for the 2023 Bastille Day Tournament is now open to ALL — EPC members, friends, and visitors! This year’s tournament will take place on Sunday, July 16, and will initiate the club’s first tournament play at our new Edmonds Petanque Grove. You don’t want to miss it! If you are interested, please sign up as quickly as possible, as space is limited, and we are certain all 52 tournament slots will fill.
What: 2023 Bastille Day Tournament
Where: Edmonds Civic Playfield (Directions to Edmonds Civic Playfield)
When: Sunday, July 16. Check-in at 8:30am. Tournament play from 9:00am to 4:00pm
Format: Panache. Bastille Day offers the perfect opportunity for newcomers and veterans to enjoy a fun day of petanque. Under the “panache” format, players will play four games during the day, each with a different partner. Everyone will get a chance to meet as many people as possible. At the end of the day, the player with the most accumulated total points is named the winner and takes home top prize. Second and third place finishers will also be recognized.
Cost: $35 for EPC members. $40 for non-members. (Morning coffee and donuts and a sack lunch are included.)
Extras: Prizes for the top three finishers. Live French cafe music at lunch. A raffle and an auction for prizes from local merchants. Shooting contest after Game 4.
