Magnifique: Inside & Out
Author BRUNO GALPOIS will be with us to sign your personal copy of his most recent book.
Learn the best-kept secrets from confident, talented women and (re) discover how TRULY beautiful you are. Conditioned by popular culture, too many women obsess about their physical appearance—they invest time, effort and money seeking to conform to today’s narrow definition of beauty. The result: disillusion, low self-esteem and a lack of confidence that get in the way of generations of women seeking to realize their amazing potential. Magnifique: Inside & Out is a personal guide to understanding how beauty fits into our busy lives.
Domaine Pradelle, Saint Joseph, 2012
RED (NORTHERN RHONE VALLEY)
Founded in 1854, the 5th generation of the Pradelle famille now runs the Domaine which has 35 hectares on the right bank of the Rhone River. No additional yeasts, 3 week vinification at up to 30°C, aged in older large barrels for 10 months. This Saint Joseph is deeply colored, perfumed floral & savory aromatics & a fruity palate (cherries). The fruit is definitely front and center, but there is enough of an acid backbone to show some freshness & enough tannin for some grip & texture. Some good minerality & savory notes on the mid palate. Will pair perfectly with a T-bone steak!
Domaine Garnier, Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, 2013
WHITE (BURGUNDY)
The grapes from 35 year old vines bought from this white stoned land have undergone an ageing in 600 liter barrels (demi-muid) blended with 30% wine that has been aged in stainless steel tanks. The French Oak adds a complexity that suits the purity from the stainless steel. The white gold that sticks to the walls of the glass evokes, by it brightness, the Chardonnay at full ripeness. Under Kimmeridgian gold, its nose nestles on a rocky slab, needing to be decanted. Its initial is vinous and full, with delicate wood notes, still too pronounced, requiring a least a year of cellaring. 2017 will be its apogee. Pair it with delicate seafood.
Château de la Grave, Côtes de Bourg Rouge, Cuvee Caractere, 2012
RED (BORDEAUX)
This wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. A wine of character! “CARACTERE” is a well-structured and complex wine with a pronounced character, a warm and expressive wine which can be easily domesticated in its youth. It’s also a powerful wine with smooth and fine tannins guaranteeing a good ageing in bottle and a high regular quality. At the nose: Red fruity notes with spicy and pepper flavors mixed with discreet woody aromas. At the palate: Long on the palate and robust, it reveals a nice elegance and a lot of harmony.
