Coming to Terms with Slavery – Memorial to the Abolition of Slavery
The people of Nantes, Seattle’s sister city and former principal French slave trade port, have come to terms with their past by building a Memorial whose scale is unique in Europe.
Seattle’s representative to the dedication of this Memorial and others from Seattle who are active in the fight against present-day slavery will take you on a tour of this unique Memorial and discuss the legacy of the slave trade, including its modern crimes of human trafficking.
