Peanut Butter Petanque to benefit Edmonds food August 5th

The Edmonds Pétanque Club is holding its second Food Bank Tournament on Sunday, August 5th at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center Playfield.  (230 6th Avenue N. in downtown Edmonds)

  • Registration opens at 9 a.m.
  • The registration fee is $20 per person for this doubles tournament.  Bring a partner!

The Club is donating 75% of all tournament proceeds to the Edmonds Food Bank, to be added to in-kind donations.  Please bring non-perishable food items.

The registration fee includes

  • a light breakfast,
  • a lunch sandwich,
  • water, all day.

Participants may purchase T-shirts, in advance, for $10.  They can be ordered on the web site at www.edmondspetanqueclub.org before July 31st.

Now, about that peanut-butter!  Peggy Kennedy, Edmonds Food Bank Director, explains that crop failures in the South have resulted in peanut-butter shortages and the prices have gone up.  She is requesting that everyone include some peanut butter when they bring food to the tournament.  Hungry kids need their summer sandwiches! Kennedy adds that the food bank welcomes any type of non-perishable food.

Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners.  To find additional details about the tournament, please go to our web site at www.edmondspetanqueclub.org
