Nouveau programme “language assistant” pour familles interesses par un echange linguistique avec des francais

Welcome a French assistant into your home!

Host families should be in Seattle or nearby…
The host families we seek will host a French assistant without remuneration, for a period of 4 to 8 weeks and in exchange the student will teach for 15 hours a week to one or more members of the family. The host family will offer a single room including breakfast and access to their kitchen. This involves a real cultural exchange, an immersion in a language, and allows you to travel without leaving your home and progressing in French at your own pace.

Linguistic Exchange
This exchange program allows a meeting of two cultures and constitutes another way of travelling. In fact, this social and cultural experience offers to all host family members a daily dose of French based on oral practice.

Main aspects of the program

What is required from the host family…

Accommodation: The host family offers a single room and provides breakfast as well as access to the kitchen for the French assistant. Other organization can be arranged upon request. The assistant is not invited as a guest, she/he is expected to help with daily household tasks and to keep on top of the cleaning and maintenance of their own room and private areas.

Cost: CICD fees per placement is $150 but the first one is free of charge!

What is required from the assistant…

Class time: 15 hours French conversation per week

Course outline: The complementary and support classes can be given in the form of various activities (music, sport, daily conversation…). A timetable needs to be put in place from the beginning of the stay so that the assistant and the host family can come to a agreement on times and organization.

C’est parti!
