the French Bilingual Association is contracting with l’Atelier d’Ichere to offer an after school French language immersion History Workshop opportunity!
Who:
- An FBA parent, Sylvie Joseph-Julien, is a French native recently arrived to the US. She is a storyteller in the oral history tradition who owns and operates the educational workshop business l’Atelier d’Ichere. Sylvie is excited to explore French history and culture through storytelling and art with our middle school students!
- Students in FBA 6eme, 5eme or 4eme classes, or equivalent
Where:
- Tillicum Middle School
- Outings to Seattle Art Museum, Bellevue Art Museum, and a local French food producer
When:
- March – May 2012
- After school 1.5 hours per week for 10 weeks
- Actual days and times will be determined by families indicating commitment to participate by March 5th.
How:
- Instruction will be conducted in French for a complete immersion experience
- Cost to participate is $170, and includes all expenses
- Occasional parent drivers will be needed to facilitate the outings
- Minimum 12 students required
- Project proposal attached, in both French and English
- Registration form and more information is available here, due by March 5th
