The French Immersion School of Washington seeks occasional substitute teachers for our preschool and elementary school programs for the 2018-2019 school year. We seek substitute teachers who are native speakers and literate in French.
A Substitute Teacher must demonstrate commitment to FISW’s mission and the population we serve, as well as be experienced teaching at the preschool and/or elementary school level. He or she must also be responsible, self-motivated, friendly, willing to work with a team of colleagues, and be accepting and adaptable to a working environment with diverse cultures.
Most substitute needs vary from day to day, although for some needs we do know the schedule in advance.
Qualifications:
• University degree
• Experience teaching grade school children
• Native/literate in French
- Current background check
Experience working in education or independent schools preferred but not mandatory.
